SAE is an acronym for "Society of Automotive Engineers" and is a grade designation for assessing the viscosity of oil. The "S" starts with gasoline engines, and the specifications are from SA to SN (in alphabetical order, but no SI); " The beginning of C" stands for diesel engine; if the two letters "S" and "C" exist at the same time, it means that the oil is a general-purpose gasoline and diesel engine.

"W" means Winter (winter), the smaller the number in front, the better the low temperature fluidity of the oil, the lower the available ambient temperature, and the better the protection ability of the excavator engine when it is cold started. For example, 5W means low temperature resistance -30°C , while the low temperature resistance of 20W is -15°C. The number after W represents the kinematic viscosity of the oil at 100°C. The higher the value, the higher the viscosity, such as "15W-40, 5W-40".

The oil of small excavators must be replaced regularly. Under normal working conditions, it should be replaced every 500 hours. The machine filter should be replaced at the same time. In a dusty environment, it is recommended to replace it every 300-400 hours. Do not mix different grades of oil, and do not use inferior oil. The more time is not the better, but should be used in small quantities several times to effectively increase the engine output power and reduce fuel consumption.

When changing the oil, you need to prepare a container and place it in the lower part of the oil pan, turn the oil drain bolt, and then change the new oil and replace the filter. It must be operated in a cold state, so that the oil can enter the oil pan for more thorough replacement.
