The export volume in the first 10 months has exceeded the total of 2021, reaching 36.58 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 34.39% . It is estimated that China's construction machinery exports will exceed US$43 billion in 2022, a record high.

It is worth noting that according to the Yellow Table 2022, the most influential list of the top 50 global construction machinery manufacturers in the construction machinery industry released by the British KHL Group, there are 10 construction machinery companies in China on the list, namely XCMG, San First Heavy Industry, Zoomlion, Liugong, China Lonking, Sunward, Shantui, China Railway Construction Heavy Industry, Zhejiang Dingli and Foton Lovol, the revenue of Chinese companies accounted for 24.2%, ranking first.

The development history of these listed Chinese companies is also the epitome of China's construction machinery industry. To sum up, they have several characteristics: First, they focus on their main business. Even if there were minor adjustments in the business, they finally returned to their main channel; The expansion and completeness of some products form a rich product ecology, while others focus on one point and find their own position in the market with differentiated competitiveness; the third is research and development innovation, based on technological upgrades to create highly competitive "hit products"; The fourth is the global layout, which combines China's industrial capabilities with overseas markets to form a "dual cycle".

At present, China's construction machinery industry has entered a new stage of transformation and upgrading, and is gradually transitioning from low-to-medium value-added products based on cost advantages to high value-added products based on technology and services. China's construction machinery has significantly improved from supporting products to complete machines, and the domestic market replacement rate has exceeded 96%, initially meeting the conditions to become a powerful country in construction machinery. Although China's construction machinery still has a certain gap with the United States, Japan, and Europe in the traditional industrial system, it is already relatively close to the construction machinery companies of the United States, Japan, and Europe in the fields of electrification, informatization, and the Internet of Things, such as XCMG, Sany Heavy Industries, Zoomlion, etc. are actively deploying electrification, industrial cloud, and unmanned driving, and have achieved gratifying results.

Facing the future, China's construction machinery industry and related companies still need to strengthen their own construction:

First, increase investment in overall technology research and development. Some "stuck" links in the manufacturing process of construction machinery, such as high-end pumps, valves, high-horsepower engines, etc., need further research and development breakthroughs.

Second, upgrade the concept of competition. Some competitive behaviors in the current industry are still irrational. Unfair competition cannot bring about the sustainable development of enterprises, but will only cause continuous harm to the entire industry.

Third, strengthen the concept of product life cycle service. Enterprises should consider the entire life cycle from product design to end-of-life, so that products can reflect their value at each stage, making the entire industry healthier and more friendly to society and the environment.
